EntreEd - The National Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education

Everything ENTREPRENUERSHIP

Here is where we write about all things entrepreneurship education, teacher professional development, and inspiring stories from our schools and network.

EntreEd Academy: Experiential Learning Goes Virtual

With support from The Appalachian Regional Commission and The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, The National Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education (EntreEd) is proud to present an immersive digital course for K-12 educators to gain an understanding of entrepreneurship education, best practices for aligning entrepreneurship in their classroom, and insights into EntreEd’s America’s Entrepreneurial Schools initiative. EntreEd Academy’s first course is Tier 1: Intro to Entrepreneurship Education. This self-paced program is applicable in any and every classroom.

“It is our hope that the EntreEd Academy will help teachers of any grade or subject area understand the why and how of using entrepreneurship as an integral part of their curriculum and instruction. As a response to current circumstances, the talented staff at EntreEd have taken our proven Tier One training and developed an online version that teachers at home can use for their own professional development. In an attempt to help teachers find some semblance of online normalcy, we are making this unique product available to any and all teachers for free until the current health crisis and school shutdown is over. I hope you find it valuable.” said EntreEd’s Executive Director, Dr. Gene Coulson.

Topics covered in the Tier 1: Intro to Entrepreneurship Education course include:

Why Entrepreneurship Education?

Entrepreneurial Mindset

Design Thinking

Aligning Entrepreneurship in the Classroom

The America’s Entrepreneurial Schools Initiative

Creating Your Own Entrepreneurial Lessons

Concepts are divided into different modules that engage participants through articles, podcasts, hands-on activities, discussions, and most importantly video lessons with informative instructors.

EntreEd Academy has two instructors, Toi Hershman and Amber Ravenscroft, that will inform and guide users through the course as they deep dive through entrepreneurship education together. Toi is EntreEd’s Director of Programming and has helped design innovative and experiential learning for educators across the country. Amber serves as the Project Director for EntreEd’s Fostering Self ESTEAM in Appalachia’s Emerging Workforce program, an ARC-funded initiative serving an eight-state region of the United States.

The EntreEd Academy has been a dream of the EntreEd team for a few years now. With COVID-19 rapidly changing the world around us, EntreEd had to find a way to adapt in-person professional development trainings for educators for a safer environment. The solution was the creation of the EntreEd Academy online training platform to bring experiential learning to educators virtually. EntreEd Academy’s Tier 1: Intro to Entrepreneurship Education is free for a limited time. In order to support educators during the COVID-19 crisis, it can be accessed at no cost through September of 2020. Register today!

Stay tuned for the future release of new courses. Preview the Tier 1: Intro to Entrepreneurship Education education training below.
