A Message from EntreEd’s Executive Director, Dr. Gene Coulson
Many of our entrepreneurial educator friends will read this message from home because your K-12 schools and community colleges are closed. No one is sure how long it will be before the situation resolves. Out of crisis comes opportunity. We hope you will use the time and situation to identify opportunities to create new tools and processes to reach students. Use this crisis to look for new opportunities to accomplish your educational goals. We encourage you to draw on the entrepreneurial mindset to help you get through the current crisis. EntreEd is doing the same.
At EntreEd, we are facing the challenge of delivering face-to-face training to our teachers and helping them deliver face-to-face instruction to their students. The current situation thwarts both of those tasks. As we currently understand it, some schools may not reopen this school year. Our opportunity is the time and necessity to do something we have been thinking about for several years – delivering entrepreneurship education professional development online. We understand that our trainings are known for being experiential, and it is every intent of the EntreEd team to innovate and create equally engaging digital opportunities for development.
Our Tier 1 training will be ready for you to access digitally in the coming days. We will notify you when it is ready and work with our community college partners to reach educators in their project regions. We hope you will take advantage of this professional opportunity to improve your entrepreneurship education foundation. Together we will get through this and be better and stronger than before!
Join us for the 2020 EntreEd Forum in Chattanooga, TN on November 18-19. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there for two days of hands-on, experiential professional development. This year’s EntreEd Forum provides attendees with a unique opportunity to explore the synergies between Entrepreneurship (E) and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, & mathematics) education.
