EntreEd - The National Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education

According to the World Economic Forum’s “The Future of Jobs Report”, sixty- five percent of children starting school today will need skills for jobs that don’t exist yet. Entrepreneurship education in K-12 classrooms enhances the development of vital entrepreneurial skills and mindsets that can be applied in future careers regardless of the career path chosen. It fuels the pipeline of entrepreneurs by preparing the workforce of tomorrow. Entrepreneurship is generally not taught in K-12 schools. Therefore, young people are not being exposed to entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial experiences. K-12 educators are not traditionally trained to deliver effective entrepreneurial experiences to students. EntreEd is striving to make entrepreneurship education more accessible.

The National Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education (EntreEd) is a national education nonprofit with over 40 years of experience in entrepreneurship education and is continually working to support K-12 entrepreneurship education in schools across the nation. EntreEd champions entrepreneurship education, cultivating students for a prosperous future. Through leadership, professional development, advocacy, and networking, EntreEd encourages educational practices and programs that cultivate entrepreneurial capabilities in all students. As the future of work continues to evolve, EntreEd instills entrepreneurial mindsets in every student, every year to forge a more entrepreneurial America. With these mindsets, students will be competitive in a global economy and create a more prosperous future for themselves and local communities.

“To instill the skills our students need to succeed, we must strive to better ourselves as educators. Becoming involved with EntreEd has allowed me to gain knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship education. I have used this knowledge to empower my students to become entrepreneurs. As an educator, there is no greater reward than watching your students realize their full potential and make a true impact on our society.” -Kentucky Entrepreneurial Educator
